The data are shown below: 10 Number of deliveries on time 45 | 44 | 46 | 45 | 38 48 45 49 47 42 Day 4 7 9 a) Construct the proper 99.73% chart for the proportion of late deliveries, include a graph in your answer. Note: Please keep 4 decimals in all your calculations and make sure to show all your work. b) Conclude if the process is out of control, explain. Show transcribed image text

Explanation / Answer

1.0 for this control, is it a c-chart or p-chart. Can you explain which one it is? Don’t need to solve the question.

Answer:

Control chart are the graph that establishes control limit of process. This help to see when the process is out of control.

There is two type of data, one is variable data which is measured on continuous scale. Like temperature, weight etc. It can be measured in fraction or decimal. Whereas the attribute data are counted & these data don’t have fractions or decimal.

Attribute data shows only success or failure, accept or reject, correct or incorrect. This data is not in fraction. For attribute data P chart or C chart are used.

P chart are called parentage defective chart. This give proportion of defective item in the sample. These chart are used when it is possible to distinguish between correct or incorrect, defective or non-defective.

Whereas c chart are used when there are more than one defect per unit. For example. Number of complaints per customer at service centre. C chart gives number of nonconformities in sample. It is used to control number of defect in final assembly.

In this problem it is given that number of deliveries on time. & specifically mentioned the control chart with proportion of late deliveries. As mentioned above, P chart tell about proportion of defective item in sample. & when it is possible to distinguish between the defective & non defective. Use the P Chart.
