Question
Explanation / Answer
Resume writing is an art, and one has to master it in order to write a consistent resume. Resume creates a first and last impression about a candidate so the candidate must carefully frame the resume, which can be a make or break situation for them.
However, some people think that to make a resume attractive they exaggerate certain points and lie about somethings on their resume. The resume is the mirror of yourself, exaggerating certain areas is ok, unless you exaggerate so much that you cross the line of balance and then that becomes a lie.
One should always boast what he/she has done throughout their career by using attractive words, sentences and phrases. However, if a person mentions something which he/she did not do at all then it’s a lie. Lying should not be encouraged as interviewers may catch you lying by asking certain questions on that topic that you do not have any knowledge.
It is not a shame that you do not know a thing, but the eagerness to learn what you do not know should be the approach and let the recruiters know that you are eager and open to any learnings.
As the author says, claiming a thing you have not done is also a type of lie and you should be rational and thing your personal contributions and achivements before you frame the resume.
In short you should be honest and precise in your resume, highlighting the achievements you have really gained and proud of what ever knowledge you have without the fear that you do not know many things.
I have solved your question. Please do not forget to give a positive like to the answer. Thank you.
