RAD is an extremely short development cycle using a componentbased construction approach. If the requirements are wellunderstood and defines, and the project scope is constraint, theRAD process enables a development team to create a fully functionalsystem with in very short time period.
RAD model has the following phases:
Business Modeling: The information flow amongbusiness functions is defined by answering questions like whatinformation drives the business process, what information isgenerated, who generates it, where does the information go, whoprocess it and so on.
Data Modeling: The information collected frombusiness modeling is refined into a set of data objects (entities)that are needed to support the business. The attributes (characterof each entity) are identified and the relation between these dataobjects (entities) is defined.
Process Modeling: The data object defined inthe data modeling phase are transformed to achieve the informationflow necessary to implement a business function. Processingdescriptions are created for adding, modifying, deleting orretrieving a data object.
Application Generation: Automated tools areused to facilitate construction of the software; even they use the4th GL techniques.
