Open world :
In an open world requirements change continuously andUnpredictably. The boundary between the systems we build and thereal world cannot be frozen. In the extreme case, it changes as thesystems we build runs and must continue to provide service. Thesystem structure cannot be frozen. Mechanisms needed for thestructure to evolve dynamically
The challenges of open world
1.How can flexibility and dynamism coexist with the requireddependability?
Net Sourcing:
Net sourcing is the practice of renting or "paying as you use"access to supplier-managed business applications, made available tomultiple customers over the Internet or other networks. The conceptof delivering business applications as a service—or "apps ontap"—was initially called application service provision(ASP). But that term has proved too narrow. Today customers areusing net sourcing to hand over entire business processes toservice providers, manage customer-grown applications.
Open source software :
Open source software (OSS) is defined as computer software forwhich the source code and certain other rights normally reservedfor copyright holders are provided under a software license thatmeets the Open Source Definition or the public domain. This permitsusers to use, change, and improve the software, and to redistributeit in modified or unmodified forms. It is very often developed in apublic, collaborative manner. Open source software is the mostprominent example of open source development and often compared touser-generated content. The term open source software originated aspart of a marketing campaign for free software.
Challenge:
The popularity of open-source software is attracting theunwanted attention of software miscreants and the encroachment ofsoftware.
