Question

Here's one of the questions that I simply cannot seem to figure outwhatsoever. I don't even know how to begin the problem. Thequestion seems to be worded in a way I've never seen, and theprofessor never went over these types of problems, only assignedthem. Anyway, any help is appreciated.

Write a C expression to generate the bit patterns that follow, where a^k represents k repetitions of symbol a. Assume a w-bit datatype. Your code may contain references to parameters j and k,representing values of j and k, but not a parameter representingw.

A. 1^(w-k) 0^k

B. 0^(w-k) 1^k 0^j

Explanation / Answer

No clue, man. I've been stuck on this problem all day. I can do it with using "w", but I don't know where to start on notusing it. I wish there was more info in the problem.
