Question

I'm really lost I know nothing about Computer programming let alone fortran programming. The stuff its asking me to do sound so simple but I just feel like its lost in the translation for me. This course shouldn't be taught lecture style IMO it should be completely hands on. None-the-less I have an assignment due tonight by midnight CST so if someone could help me out with just like a sample of a written out fortran program expaliang what each line means that would be SUPER helpful. Here is what I have to do:

1. Speed Conversion
write a fortran 95/2003 program to convert a user input speed in miles per hour to meter per second. Your program needs to prompt users to enter a speed in mile per hour, then get the user input value, calculate the corresponding speed in meter per second, and finally display the result in the following format:

1.000000 mph = 0.4470400 m/sec

2. Area of annulus (circle ring)

write a fortran 95/2003 program to calculate the area of a circle ring (region between two concentric circles) given the user inputs of its inner and outer radii ri and ro in centimeters. Your program should display the result in the following format:

Annulus ri= 1.000000 cm ro= 2.000000 cm
The area is 9.424778 cm square

use Pi of 3.14159265 in the computation

Again if someone could respond with a sample even just using different analogies, but an ACTUAL program it would greatly help. Like a conversion for like Liters to quarts and then another program that shows some kind of equation based solution. I'm not looking for someone to do this for me I just don't get it. I'm a kinetic learning and if I can't actually see how everything gets inputted I'm not gonna get it by someone just telling me in a lecture. As soon as I see a sample of a program doing something like this I'm gonna get it in like 5 - 10 minutes! Thank you to whomever may answer me I so GREATLY appreciate it more than you can possibly know!

Dear.. 1. PROGRAM TEST ! ! CHART CONVERTING MILES TO KILOMETERS ! FROM 1 MILES TO 60 MILES ! ! VARIABLE DECLARATIONS ! INTEGER NUM REAL MILES,KILOS,EIGHT1 ! ! INITIALIZATION AND HEADER ! EIGHT1=8.0/5.0 WRITE(6,100) 100 FORMAT(7X,'Miles',3X,'Kilometers') ! ! LOOP TO CONVERT ! DO NUM=5,60,5 MILES=NUM MILES = KILOS *5.0/18.0 WRITE(6,101) MILES,KILOS END DO STOP END
