Question
Photoshop is one of only two brand names that has now become a verb in pop culture. Along with “Google it” you can tell anyone that something was “Photoshopped” and they know that you meant the image has been altered in some way, even if Photoshop wasn’t used. However there are controversial issues surrounding the use of Photoshop in advertising, news, and hoaxes online. For instance, check out this article about a picture of Iranian Missiles that had been altered and then featured in many major national newspapers http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/10/in-an-iranian-image-a-missile-too-many/ .
Please discuss what issues surround the use of Photoshop in pop culture. What is your opinion?
What is acceptable and what is not?
Also, if you find something current, please post that as well.
Explanation / Answer
Photoshop in pop culture- The Image Photoshop in Pop Culture The image is just the tip of the iceberg Uses Photoshop is the most popularly used software for graphic editing, example was its “Evolution” , which showed how a regular woman could be given supermodel looks through Photoshop, which digitally manipulated her face to look slimmer and her neck longer.“It’s just expected. Everything gets retouched, even if you’re just taking a photo of a natural setting. You’re going to tweak the colour balance.”Many of us like to think that we’re smart enough not to be reduced to shivering masses of insecurity simply because we see a David’s Bridal ad in which the model’s waist is magically smaller than her head.My Opinion-And coming to my opinion there are so many advantages that high technology increased but the thing is too much editing a picture may loose the beauty of the original one,so the thing we need to accept is Young women (and men) shouldn’t let false advertising destroy their self-confidence. There are definitely more things in life to worry about, like parallel parking or the GRE. But in all seriousness, we don’t need this kind of things in our lives.

What were once emphatic expressions of political beliefs and partisan ideology have been reduced to pop culture parodies rendered by skilled digital artists. Take, for example, Spongebob Squarepants' call to fight... for bikini bottoms. Or Willy Wonka's open-armed decree to eat more chocolate. My favorite by far, however, is the 'Where's Waldo?' poster that leads off the gallery; it turns out that he, not Big Brother, is watching us.
