Question

Mergers and acquisitions of other organizations computing environments can be very challenging to integrate into an existing infrastructure. However, it can be equally if not more challenging to divest part of the company such as a business unit. In this economy companies are frequently buying other companies and selling parts of their company in order to grow. The IT implications are huge and are very tricky. What needs to be taken into consideration from an IT infrastructure and computing environment when doing a separation?

Explanation / Answer

Answer:

IT implications are really huge and sometimes very tickly. So, before separating IT infrastructure and computing environment from your business. These are some of the things which need to be considered.

First and for the most important thing is let set all the things which are separated being separated from your business should be clear. This needs to be documented and when both parties who are buying and selling should agree on that and it gets signed by both parties.

When a company separates a part of the business then it should consider the IT technology and computing infrastructure which are being separated will not affect their current business. A team of an employee who works on both the part i.e. part which are separated and the part which is currently present you should keep those employee for any further technical issue occur after separations.

Also consider separating code, infrastructure, technology, computing device, server etc should be separated in such a way that it should not affect the current business.

Finally separating a part of the business is not an easy thing. It takes months to completely independent of the separated business. Also, every business separations are different their legal terms, demands, money, people, technology, infrastructure etc. It changes with every business. So there is no generalized way of separating a business. Above mentioned point are some of the point which can go with every IT infrastructure and computing environment separations.

Hope this helps….

Good Luck…!!
