Encryption can be thought of as a necessary evil in our society. On one hand, the technology presents benefits especially for people that have to protect their sensitive data. It is also used by terrorist organizations to hide their presence in a network or sending vital information about their mission and agendas and communicate with their people that are deployed all over the world. It is necessary as well as harmful unless the government regulates the use, exporting/sharing and deployment OS new encryption technologies. It needs oversight, it needs to be protected because of its utilization in our world where information can be thought of to be as valuable as a currency. Government should regulate who all can use what technology and essentially who should be prohibited from utilization of a certain technology. This is due to the fact that abandoning the technology of encryption would leave the world to become a more vulnerable place than it already is. If an absolutely unbreakable, indecipherable technology is developed, it should not be a public information and should be kept a secret in order to protect the interests of the society as a whole and not not jeopardize the security of a nation in the attempt to benefit some selected fee businesses.
