Question

Input refers to data and instructions entered into the memory of a computer via many different devices. While the human factor is predominant, there are automatic devices and programs that record and forward that data through various channels for translation into reporting output. Identify and discuss what you see as the most critical characteristic in this process, particularly in a business environment.

Explanation / Answer

A computer process can be divided in three parts:
1. Input
2. Intermediate processing
3. Output

Each of these 3 parts could have a different degree of complexity. In some cases the input part could be super easy where the user has to just eneter some values and the intermediate processor is smart enough to understand user's input and give an output. In otherr cases the intermediate processor might need extra help from user.
The most important part of this cycle is intermediate processing part. As the technology has improved the complexity of intermediate processor has increased and the weight on input has decreased considerably. Nowadays for doing complex tasks we need not write long codes. Unlike the old times where the users had to write every piece of input in form of binary or assembly language. The machines are evolving and with time the importance of intermediate processor will increase. With the introduction of artificial intelligence a lot of manual effort will be reduced and our intermediate processors might become smart enough to work on their own without the need of manual input.
