The organization which I work for may be considered as a flexible organization . This is because of several features which may be described as below:
1. Location Flexibility: the company has several unit offices scattered through out the state as a result of which it can cater to the needs of people in different geographical areas.
2. Skills flexibility: It has many different departments which have employed people on the basis of their skills and expertise. But, the employees may be shifted to other places depending on their skills and abilities as and when needed by the organization.
3. Work pattern flexibility: there is a basic guideline or a work pattern. The broad goals of the organization are defined. But the ways to reach them can vary as per the need and resources available.
4. Job flexibility and legal flexibility are not present. (These are also an important part of flexible organizations,)
5) Flat structure the origination has the flat structure which lacks several layers of management. Such a structure makes all employees much responsive to the organizational needs. The elimination of bureaucracy has made the employees self reliant and being involved in decision making.
6) As and when the need arises, special purpose teams are framed to accomplish the tasks. These teams perform the task diligently and effectively and later the teams gets dissolved.
7) The flexible scheduling of working hours has made the employees much happier as they can fulfill their personal lives and xcomitmnts.8) All the above features have lead to greater team building and improved efficiency of the organization in total
