Question

Collective bargaining is the process, wherein employers and employees sit together to arrive at a mutual decision to maintain the functioning of an enterprise. With the formation of unions, the bargaining is done by them as they are responsible for representing employees’ interests and issues. The unions have a greater voice that cannot go unheard by employers. For instance, unions had been instrumental in the abolition of sweatshops and child labour in the U.S. with their constant push towards the ending of these practices.

Collective bargaining provides empowerment to employees as they can collectively push an agenda and pressurize the management to fulfill the same.
