Question
Regional Gardens is also considering whether to use PaaS or SaaS to provide services to its employees. Regional Gardens has deployed Microsoft SharePoint 2010 from its data center as a collaboration and document management tool for its 70 staff. The SharePoint 2010 instance has been extensively customized to suit Regional Gardens needs and also runs Project Central, their Project Management tool as a separate application from within SharePoint. All employees have the Microsoft Office 2010 suite of office automation products installed on their respective desktops or laptops. Regional Gardens would like to move its SharePoint 2010 instance to the cloud to make it more accessible, particularly to its users working at customer’s sites. Regional Gardens want you to report on:

Explanation / Answer
IaaS: infrastructure as a service means providing the cloud infrastructure to a organization. The organization can then use this to store data in the cloud.IaaS can also provide virtualization technique to provide computing resources. For eg: Azure
PaaS: provides a platform on which software can be developed and deployed. PaaS can abstract the concept of operating system and server software onto itself, as well as the underlying server hardware and network infrastructure are taken care of.
SaaS: In this the software is entirely hosted in the cloud also its supporting infrastructure like database is also hosted in cloud.People can acess the software via a url and credentials.Eg : MS office online
In this case I would recommend SaaS as the entire sharepoint application can be put to the cloud to use it globally.
They can face issues when internet is down as SaaS is solely depandant upon internet. We can create a system wherein if the internet is down we can use the software offline and as soon as the internet is up it will sync to the cloud.
