Question

I need more information about this

Privacy as a right to be left alone within a personal zone of solitude, and privacy as the right to control information about oneself. It is valuable to consider the connection between these two sense of privacy. Certain decisions that we make about how we live our lives, as well as the control of personal information, play a crucial role in defining our own personal identity. Privacy is important because it establishes the boundary between individuals and thereby defines one's individuality. The right to control certain extremely personal decisions and information helps determine the kind of person we are and the person we become.

Privacy can be legally protected in three ways: by the constitution, by federal or state statues, and by the common law. Common law refers to the body of law comprised of the decisions handed down by courts, rather than specified in any particular statues or regulations. The invasion of privacy claim with which most people are familiar is one that developed through case law called intrusion into seclusion. This legal violation occurs when someone intentionally intrudes on the private affairs of another when the intrusion would be highly offensive to a reasonable person.

Explanation / Answer

With what I can gather about from your question, here is the answer :

Privacy is one of the constitutional rights of an individual. Every person has the choice to keep certain details to hmself/herself and not share that with public. A human being cannot be social all the time and hence requires time off socializing and being amongst other human beings. In today's fast-paced world, very few people will sit down and hear us out. Everyone just wants to be 'heard', no one actually wants to 'listen'. Hence, our 'Me Time' is important to bring back our sanity. So, Privacy also means being only in the company of ourselves, addressing our life's concerns and being cut-off from the world for some time. We like to guard our private lives from the public as, with the boom of the internet, information spreads around like a forest-fire. Hence, Privacy is dear to every individual.

Intrusion into someone's privacy becomes a legal offence. There are way many cases of privacy invasion reported in the court of law. Some are private, some business or finance related and the most popular in recent times is cyber privacy invasion. Unethically hacking into someone's private internet account has become rampant. With today's digitization, every kind of information can be found online from one's social security account details to bank account details. The recent revelations in Panama Papers and the scandal involving US National Security Agency collecting the telephone records of tens of millions of Americans are also examples of intrusion into seclusion wherein information was gathered intentionally. Ofcourse, few groundbreaking revelations were made due to both of these scandals which lead to whistle-blowing of dethronement to quite a few top officials, it is still categoried as legal privacy invasion.

Hope this helps !
