Discussion Questions

Explanation / Answer

First of all it may or may not be Ram issues. First check the RAM used by that multimedia applications.

Speed of computers depends on various factors.

Process clock

RAM size

Hard disk speed

Graphic Card Size

Case 1: When total RAM memory consumed by all you application is less than 80% of available space of Your RAM.

Then you have no issue with your RAM, It may because of other hardware Like Processor clocking.

Processor clock: If clock frequency is low, processing will be slow, and you will feel lag.

Hard disk: It may be because of slow speed of your hard disk as switching different application take place by content switching. Slow reading and writing speed may leads to delay in operations.

Case 2: When your System consume more than 80% of your RAM

In this case your Friend is right, you have to Upgrade RAM size.

If RAM size is low then during Application switching, your system need to free the RAM, before loading in new program in RAM. So your system may lags.

To solve this

It’s of no use if you have large size RAM, but slow frequency processors and vice versa.
