Your instructor might want you to organize in groups for this project. This chapter included a few real-world examples that use a layered approach to describing a process. See whether you can come up with another process that can be described in layers. You should give a presentation to the class with a detailed description of the layered process you decide on.

You want to transfer a document from one computer to another, and you want the document to be encrypted. The destination computer is on another network, so you know data has to travel through one or more routers. The network technology on your network is Ethernet, but the technology on the destination network is Wi-Fi. From what you have learned about networking, should this document transfer work? Why or why not? Which layers of the OSI model are involved in the italicized parts of this description?

Being a computer students, we can comeup with the "OSI layered process" for this presentatin. OSI is basically a model then having 7 Layers. The process of sending the data between two nodes is explained below with the working of each layer.
1) Physical Layer: This layers deals with communciation media.
2) Data Link Layer: This layers deals with the physical address of the two nodes
3) Network Layer: This layer is used to provide the ip addresses to nodes
4) Transport Layer: This layer is used to maintain and setup the connections between two nodes. it also ensure the stability and relability of connection
5) Session Layer: This layer is used to establish the connection between the two data communication parties.
6) Presentation Layer: This layer basially take the data from the application layer and prepared data in the formatted way. For example .txt or .doc
7) Application Layer: This layer is used to send and receive data from the network. The examples of this layers are various web browsers and various email clients.
