ABC Inc. wants to build a new web site to sell their “clearance” products and they are planning to publish a proposed website site designed to obtain feedback from "potential customers". The question is whether ABC Inc. should use a prototype to obtain feedback from "potential customers” about the proposed website. There are four available prototypes: patched-up, nonoperational, first-of-a-series, and selected features. What type of prototype is appropriate for ABC Inc. in this case? The prototype model is best suitable according to the given description in my opinion. On those 4 available prototypes I would suggest that the First of Series prototype is the best suitable for this company.
Because in First of Series prototype model we design the website fully and we release the beta version of the actual website. The main aim on this First of Series prototype which release the beta version is to obtain the users feedback which is the main requirement for the ABC Inc company. The beta version has the full developed website with all the working functionality. Then the customers will use this beta version then they will give the feedback on this beta version. Based on this feedback the company can change the features suggested by customers then they can release the main website.
We cant use the patch up prototype as this prototype is used in the development phase which the developers can develop the system in patches and finally those will be combined which will be not satifies our requirement.
And the other one which is non operational prototype in this we update the specific part. But not to take the feedback or like that. By using this prototype we can update specific thing in already developed product.
And the other one is selected features prototype, in this type of prototype we will relese beta version only like First of Series but with the selected features and will take the feedback from the users. Here our requirement is not to obtain the feedback on particular features but the whole thing. So this is also not an option.
