Advisory circulars are one type of publication produced by the Federal Aviation administration to provide information and guidelines to any individual or institute within the aviation industry. They generally advise the FAA about the things or actions that needs to be implemented. The advisory circulars contains variour subjects related to the aircrafts, airports, pilots operations, maintanance and these circulars are distributed to the persons involved in aviation industry such as the pilots, mechanics, operators, general managers and even the general public.

The main purpose of The advisory circular in airport management is to provide the specific guidelines and requirements when a specific operation is implemented.

One advisory circular is AC-No 120-76A. The AC is contains guidelines for the use of Electronic flight Bags(EFB). Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) is an electronic information management device that helps flight crews perform flight management tasks more easily.
