Each regional office has several retail locations. Regional offices are connected to the corporate headquarters through leased fractional T-1 Lines and routers provide no less than1 Mbps througput. Retail locations are connected to regional offices through 56Kbps dial up connections. All client computers are exected to obtain resources and standard computer settings from the corporate head quarters and regional offices. Retail locations will have only two to five computers. Explanation / Answer

1) I would suggest domain model which is client/server architecture based model, suitable for large organizations which includes network of computers and databases falling under same administration, whereas workgroup model is suitable for small organizations having network of less than 10 systems.

2) Domain controllers facilitates security authentications by responding to client requests and authenticates requests coming to servers. In this situation DCs should be located as: 1 headquarter, 5 regional offices.

3) If new sites are to be configured then organization should analyze the globally which contries/regions have maximum number of clients and check if they are being provided appropriate amount of resources. If not then new sites should be configured in these regions.

4) Following decisions organization has to make to configure Active directory:
- Define container relationships in the directory
- Design database
- Scalability
- Replication factor
- Hierarchy of containers
- Direcotry schema
