More than three billion mobile phones are in use worldwide, and more people now reach the Internet with mobile phones than they do with desktop computers. Even if your phone can’t browse the Web, it probably has some limited Web capability and is at least part of a huge cell phone network. Have you ever thought about someone hacking your phone?
Research your phone model on the Internet to determine what OS it uses and any existing or potential vulnerabilities. For example, could your phone be used as a covert listening device or used to send text message spam or perform a DoS attack? Be creative, but use real information that you find in your research. Write a one to two-page report on your findings.
Explanation / Answer
I am using ASUS zenfone 4 which comes with an Intel processor, and android mobile operating system developed by Google.
One of the vulnerability was found in the incident update of the ASUS team was “Meltdown and spectre vulnerabilities”. The vulnerability found was allowing the inference of data values from the memory.
This will leave the access to the unauthorized people (who are called hackers) accessing our private details.
There is no such serious virus for Android OS comparing the PCs. But some of the malwares are available for the android operating system.
Many of the vulnerability is happening due to the Wi-Fi network, the intruders are coming through it.
Proper update and patch was given in time for all the ASUS products to prevent from these attacks.
It is also having virus scanner and malware detector. Security updates will be available for every 3 to 4 months in the ASUS community.
They introduced a security product advisory in which people can report their issues directly to the ASUS community through an email.
