How will you investigate this access problem using the ls command.

The user is complaining that the system seems "sluggish", this means that the computer just slows down. So, it is the time for the computer to be cleaned up. The reason may be there are too many start up programs. Some new programs try to make their way in startup menu. If it is windows 7, then one needs to search for the system configuration, then go to the task manager/startup tab; then uncheck the programs that the user doesn't want starting when his/her system boots up.
Another reason can be the user is running too many programs at one time.
The computer's ability to run multiple programs at the same time depends on it's RAM. If the user has windows 7, then one can close the program from File Menu.
