Question

QUESTION 19 Bob runs a landscaping business and is recruiting high school graduates to work in his business. Bob lives in a well to do suburb of a mid-sized city and he has decided that he will only recruit from the two high schools in his suburb. You tell Bob that you are concerned that his recruiting plans will violate equal employment opportunity laws, but Bob says that is not possible as he will hire any qualified person from these high schools. Is Bob correct? What is the problem with Bob's recruiting plan and why might it violate equal employment laws? For the toolbar, press ALT+F10 (PC) or ALT+FN+F10 (Mac). Explanation / Answer

I believe that Bob is correct in this aspect because the Equal Employment Opportunity law protects discrimination based on race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, etc. Hence Bob can select particular colleges for his recruitment venture. It will not violate the equal employment law but the process is unethical to some extent as fair opportunity is not been given to all the graduates and only few selected colleges along with their students get the opportunity.
