Choose an organisation which operates, or may be planning to operate, in two or more countries. Discuss your choice with your subject coordinator before you proceed. This can be
done via email, face to face or by telephone. You may choose to undertake a Case Study provided by your coordinator. The company chosen need not operate within Australia but it
may be easier for you to choose Australia as one of your countries because of the access to information you may need. Contact your subject coordinator to discuss your choice before
proceeding with this assignment. Most firms have detailed websites from which you should be able to acquire sufficient information to address this assignment task. Students may choose to conduct this analysis on their current workplace organisation. However, if choose your own organisation, the country you select to do business with must not be one in which your company currently operates.
2. Choose a target country for your selected business to possibly expand to. Conduct an analysis of the macro environment (ie the economic, political, legal and socio-cultural
environment) of that country. This data would be analysed so that your chosen organisation would be more aware of any relevant issues, if they were going to "do business" in this other
country.
Note that you need to ensure that you refer to the theory covered in the topics 1 to 6 within your report and find additional relevant literature/information sources. This should not be a
general descriptive report, but rather must be a report that explains the relevant theory relating to international management and provides data as the basis of an evaluation of the
international environment. Thus, when providing data on factors such as type of government or economic aspects you should not just state the information but you should also explain
how it is significant and why it is of interest/importance to your particular organisation.

Thanks for the question.
I came across one of the companies that is making innovative solutions in the robotics division. The company is "The Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz Ltd." from India.
They started with the idea of making all different kind of driverless vehicles and enabling smart lives with the robots. Initially, their robots were for the defense purpose like the mobile robotic platforms with manipulator arms, automated bomb diffusal platforms, surveillance robots, motion platforms etc.
But later using the same technology, they entered into the world of industrial robots where they are currently making the robots to transfer the material from one location to another. Also, they have the solutions which replace the conventional conveyors and the complete assembly of the vehicles is happening on the robot itself.
The most innovative solution for them is the Novus Drive - Driverless shuttle. They claim that they have already developed a kit which can be mounted to any vehicle and it can run autonomous. You must have heard about the Google Car; it is much similar to that except it is a kit and can make any car or vehicle unmanned. They have already started selling this car/shuttle to Indian Army to save the human lives and also to close campuses for the driverless experience.
Recently, a path breaking product was launched by the company. Much like the Novus Drive, they launched a kit which can convert any forklift in the industry into the autonomous vehicle. They have already installed some machines of such type to the industrial space of India.
The company wants to expand its operations in America. Macro Environment Factors:
Economic: Since this company is into the manufacturing of the Autonomous robots, the economic factors should be taken into consideration. Since the interest rates and the labor costs are higher in the States, the company could consider the manufacturing in its home country i.e. India and then provide te local service support.
Political: The political factors are the important aspect when a county is trying to go global. Since in the States, the government is stable and very progressive & open to innovations and new businesses, the company should be able to do its business in a much convincing manner.
Legal: There are no legal barriers to enter the market. The company might be needing the local service and support provider along with the local talents to flourish the business. In some cases, the company might also need to enter the market along with a JV with the local partner.
Socio-Cultural: Since the people are willing to work for the jobs which would enhance their skills and they can do more value added work, they wish to replace the mundane human processes with the automated processes which would made the life simpler and jobs more centric. Thus, the company will be well accepted in the States with the kind of products they are producing.
