Explanation / Answer
Research conducted on Culture and its impact on perception have indicated that each culture percived the same event differently and there are underlying differences between the generations of the same culture. Culture is what makes the people who they are today.
It has been noted that Older groups in the western countries often focus on individuals and central objects rather than have a global view point.
Assuming that you are in the age group of twenty to twenty five, let us consider some scenarios for each of the topics listed below
Election of Donald Trump: If you are interviewing an elderly person (say in the age group of 50-70), the view point would most definitely lean towards 'what is in it for me?' when considering all the reforms that Donald trump proposed during his election campaign and not much on the global impact of the proposed reforms coming out of Trump's office. You can also elaborate on how the proposal changes in healthcare reforms impacted the mindset of this age group as they had to now consider retirement planning more effectively due to higher medical expenses, etc...
If you are considering to write a comparison using younger generation(25-30), you can elaborate on the global impact of Donal Trump in general as a person and also specifically related to any of the campaign agenda. Let us take for example, the reforms in H1B visa. For the white younger generation this would mean lesser competition from these groups for jobs, for career growth, etc..But some of the proposed reforms in Energy Industry would not be accepted by this group as they would definitely see the wider angle and the environmental impact thedecision would result in.
Reality TV: Age group (50-70)- Here there is a definite difference that exists between men and women of this age group when reality TV is considered. But the underlying central dogma would be that the people/celebrities who are potrayed on these shows are very bold, badly behaved, cheat, have loose morals, spread gossip and rumor etc and do not have any family values.
Age group (15-20)- The reality TV actually has a profound impact on this group more so because the programs usually potray behaviour that is seen as acceptable by the society and in fact normal. It allows for viewers to peep' into the lives of celebrities whom they admire and now have access to part of their lifestyle. So in your write up you can state that most people of this age group feel that their inner thoughts have been captured so well on these programs and how their relationship between people around them change due to this.
Hip Hop: Definitely for someone who belongs to the age group of 15-25, Hip Hop would be a sense of self expression and exploring limits. But for older generationHip hop would not be classy.
Black Lives Matter: This is a campaign and does influence on voting choices of Americans. Statistics shows 4 out of 10 americans are for this movement out of which 40% are whites and 60% are blacks.
You can assume any age group as even though there are many racial differences, mostly this would be controversial topic. Let us assume that the elderly age group would show much more solidarity towards this movement compared to younger age group.
