Question
The relationship between the organization and its members can be greatly influenced by what motivates individuals to work. The style of leadership, job design, resources on the job, and environment can all have a significant effect on the satisfaction of employees and their performance. Performance is also influenced by individual motivations (e.g., social, recognition, financial reward, personal growth and development, and/or intrinsic satisfaction) and can equally impact the organization. There are many theories that attempt to explain the nature of motivation. Write a four- to five-page paper (excluding the title and reference pages) evaluating the relationship between motivation, job satisfaction, and work performance. Be sure to address the following: Describe a performance issue which resulted from a motivational problem (what, why, who). Use a content theory of motivation (e.g., Maslow, Alderfer, Herzberg, or McClelland) or a process theory (i.e., Adams, Locke, or Heider and Kelley) to explain how the issue creates a performance problem for the organization. Use the theory of motivation you selected to describe an intervention/action to change the motivation/behavior and correct the performance problem.

HR PERFORMANCE ISSUES AND MOTIVATION IN AN ORGANIZATION
(ABC Limited)
INTRODUCTION
Human resource management involves all management decisions that influence the relationship between the organization and its employees (Gregory& shook, 2009) .Employees performance is a key issue in HR as every organization aims to achieve higher performance.
“Employee performance “refers to the observable behaviors and actions which explain how a job is done, plus the results that are expected for satisfactory job performance (McNamara, 2005) .to achieve or encourage higher performance among employees an organization need to adopt a well articulated culture with good HRM practices.
ABC limited is an organization which is experiencing performance issues among its employees due to motivational problems .we have come out with the performance problem among the employees as well as the motivational constraints .By the implication of Maslow’s need hierarchy theory we came up with the findings and the intervention through which we can solve the performance related issues among employees in this organization
FINDINGS
We have identified few performance issues in an organization which results into productivity of employees due to motivational problem
Performance issues are as follows
1. Absenteeism
2. Relationship with peers and management.
3. Work pattern
All the above mentioned performance issues are happening inside this organization which further leads to low employees productivity and thus affecting companies turnover.
Employee’s remains absent from workplace for an unauthorized time period .usually they came late in the morning and leaves early in the office .Many of them remains absent due to sick leaves. Even during office hours employees are engaged in leisure activities.
Relationship of the employees with their peers and management is also not satisfactory as there is always a conflict between them for job transfers and promotions.
Work pattern is very poor in the organization as the employee’s shows carelessness which takes excessive time to complete work, leads to wastage of resources and thus most of the times deadlines are crossed.
Following are the Motivational problems which the employees are experiencing.
Low self confidence.
When an employee lacks confidence, he feels unworthy and is unable to take decisions. With lack of confidence the employee is unable to form good work relationship, which is very essential for his success at work place .as confidence enhances ones motivation, so with lack of motivation he will apply limited effort in completing a work
Low perception for success
Positive expectations of success enhance a person’s motivation .employer has lower expectations from their employees thus the tools and equipments necessary for the employees to accomplish a work is quite less. This is resulting into lower motivation of employees.
Lack of interest in subject matter
An employee are deprived of training and development and thus experiences less knowledge about the changed work pattern .this leads to their lack of interest in work, as they are not totally participating in the activity at hand and perform poorly.
Fear of failures
Employees are experiencing lack of success and thus they avoid work as he lacks the confidence to complete the work .the more the employee fears failure the less motivated he will be to perform work and attempt to achieve certain goals, because it is easier to avoid tasks then experiencing shame due to improper completion.
THEORY OF HEIRARCHY OF NEEDS
Abraham Harold Maslow proposed a theory that outlined five hierarchical needs which could be applied to an organization and its employee’s performance. According to this theory, one does not feel the second need until the demand for the first need have been satisfied or the third until the second has been satisfied.
IMPACTS AND IMPLICATION
CONCLUSION
Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory is relevant in today’s business organizations. Every organization which wants to achieve success and excellence must have to apply Maslow’s law .In order to create good working atmosphere, better work environment and achieving right target at right time. When all the above interventions are applied in the ABC Limited then the employees becomes motivated and the issue related to their performance problem was finally solved, they are now satisfied and gives their best performance for the company, employee’s productivity has raised leading to the organization productivity.
There is less absenteeism now , as employees comes on time and leaves office on time .now there is comparatively less number of sick leaves taken by employee’s, now they are rarely found engaged in leisure activities .Relationship between employees and management has become strong as there is open communication between the two. Relationship among the co-workers has become more professional and problem free. Good work coordination can be experienced in this organization now. Work pattern has now taken a good shape as there is no waste of resources now. Employees are delivering quality output on time in order to meet the deadlines.
All the above problems shave been solved by correcting the motivation issues which the employees were experiencing from a long time.
