The most essential elements of the service the customers want, are network speeds and throughput. The company needs to invest in telecom network with latest technologies to add dynamism and flexibility to the system to take advantage of any opportunity that comes by. It also needs to be agile enough to take technological advantage from the Over the Top ( OTT) players that offer high class service at minimal prices. For enabling this change, proprietary programs ( which are closed source programs that are owned by a developer and can not be altered) should be replaced with open source programs ( More flexible, agile, cost effective and versatile ) for gaining competitive advantage.
