The precedence diagram for the activities as follows :
A
B
C
D
F
E
G
The parallel paths and their corresponding durations as follows :
A-E-G = 10 + 5 + 10 = 25 days
B-D-E-G = 5 + 2 + 5 + 10 = 22 days
C-F-G = 3 + 5 + 10 = 18 days
Out of above , A-E-G has the longest duration and hence forms the critical path .
Since duration of critical is same as project duration, it is concluded that project duration is 25 days
Slack for activities B and D = Duration of A-E-G – Duration of B-D-E-G = 25 – 22 = 3 days
Slack for activities C and F = Duration of A-E-G – Duration of C-F-G = 25 – 18 = 7 days
Slack for activities on critical path are always ZERO.
Therefore, slack for activities A, E, G = 0
