Why do you think that Bono fails to see the inconsistencies of his actions? What could Bono do now to help correct this perceived hypocritical behavior?Explanation / Answer
Bono believes in compartmentalizing his decisions in terms of his public stance of giving more financial aid to developing countries and his personal stance on reducing his tax liability for the royalty payments received by him which in turn reduces the fund available to the government which it disburses to the developing countries. While Bono presents the stance that his actions are legal and hence must be ethical too, there is a contradiction as he presents himself to be more ethical than others. Bono could contemplating setting up a some kind of a trust which would accumulate the wealth that he would have anyway paid towards taxes if the royalty payments were taxed and are now being saved. This can be used to provide aid to various causes in the developing countries thus bridging the gap.
