The need for emotional connection with the customers for the branding process is important. Connecting emotionally means creating an urge in the minds of the customer to buy a product of that brand. They trust the brand blindly and feel it a necessity to buy any product that the brand launches. This feeling is created by making an emotional connection with the customers. It can be done by making a personal connection with the customers and not considering them only a consumer from whom profits are to be derived.

Understanding brand strategy: This is the initial step to bring a brand in the market. For this step it is essential to understand the customers choice of one product over another. Their preferences of quality, types, designs, colours, sizes etc. What they expect from a product in the market has to be analysed. To what extent they can spend on the product of their choice and need. Their behaviours to the quality or price raise and how a successful strategy will be created according to it.

Creating a brand brief: to create a brand brief which involves creating a marketing plan and design. In this process understanding the audience for whom the branding has to be positioned is important. Creating the right brand with the right strategy in the right audience takes the product to a successful point. For this making an emotional connection with the customers is the key factor. It will be a difficult task to create a market with the customers after introducing the brand in the market hence the process is made easier to achieve by first understanding the customers mindset, what they expect from the product and then branding the product accordingly.

Performing internal and external audits: For branding a product in the market a thorough study of internal and external factors effecting it has to be made.
