My career goal is to become a professional fashion designer specialising in ethnic oriental fashion. For this, I have enrolled in a degree program leading to graduation in Fashion design.
Project management is a professional scientific tool to conceptualise, define, plan, manage, execute and analyse an event that may be as distinct as building a bridge or a polio immunisation program in Asia or preparing a collection of ethnic wedding trouseau of a bride on the occasion of her marriage. The project management thus transcends the boundaries of subjects, fields and disciplines, and is applicabe for impeccable, scientific management of any event that has a beginning and end point, a plan of action to achieve certain deliverables within a time limit within an expense limit and under other risks and constraints.
I believe, that in my discipline, PM has a special place where one has to manage various stakeholders, has a set of deliverables that might change on short notice ( fashion changes like anything!) and are to be accomplished under tight timeline ( A wedding date can not be altered) under constraints of budget, space, place and availability among the others.
A professional certification in PM will definitely add value to my profile, helping me to perform the tasks at my job or my own work in a disciplined, organised,well managed and customer focussed way, taking care of the constraints.
