Question

QUESTIONS 1. Competitive advantage is never a "once-and-fr all" achievement, but instead, either countries through leadership exchanging the lead or a one-tine competitive nation just falls off the map forever. What might be the distinguishing factors between countries that merely cycle out of leadership for a time versus those that shine brightly for a moment and then fade out forever? 2. Do you think China is going to fade out forever as a com: shon petitive force or just cycle back to the top aft period?

Explanation / Answer

1. transferring or exchaing the quality decisions, inputs, resources etc, is not one time activity. it is sequential activities or it is a process where should go continously. otherwise this kind of relationship provides results for the give time period only. later, it becomes normal and the competitors can acquire the market share.

Take an example of Hero Honda- till the time they were together, most of the market were in their hands only. Once they divided, now the market share is grabed by the other players like Bajaj motors in India.

Hence, the supporting activities, leadership process, innovative and R&D practices, quailty resources, professionals etc must be exchange continuously to get better results.

2. No, China is not going to fade with this kind of activities. Even it produce cheap quality products, products at lower cost, etc, they are succesfully creating market for their products. There are many nations still strugling with high proverty. China may concentrates on those nations, and spread their market share from developing nations to poor nations I think.
