3. Situations when my leadership made a difference to the team that I led was when we were supposed to submit a project on the Stephen Covey's Book " 7 Habits of Highly Effective People".
I was nominated as the team leader where in I had to lead a team of 10 members. To my surprise I found out that none had read the book. This was really challenging as we had to relate the theoretical concepts with live examples in day today life and were supposed to submit the same as a project in 5 days time.
I had to work on a strategy as the time given was completely less. I decided to split my team members in a group of 3 each with one group having 4 members. I then asked them to take up one topic and come prepared the very next day. Seminars were given to them where in each group explained the concept in their own words so that the couterparts were able to understand. The next two days was given to them to relate the concepts in day to day life. They were so comfortable with the theory now that they mastered the book. Our project was a success. I was proactive and I beginned the work end in mind. My team members were in perfect synergy and thus our project was a huge success.
