Explanation / Answer

A) Color Change with 0.01M HCl

Red Litmus - remains red Blue Litmus - turns red

B) Color Change with 0.01M NaOH

Red litmus - turns blue Blue litmus - remains blue

C) Color change with Phenolphthalein

When added to HCl - Phenolphthalein color changes from pink to colourless

On addition of drops of NaOH - colorless to dark pink color (when added in excess)

On addition of drops of HCl- pink color fades and ultimately becomes colorless

D) Color change with Bromocresol Green

When added to HCl - from Green color of bromocresol Green to yellow

On addition of drops of NaOH - Yellow to green if addition is done to neutralise the acid , and when added in excess then Blue

On addition of drops of HCl- Blue to green for neutralising the base and when added in excess then yellow

E) Color change with Methyl Red

When added to HCl - Red color

On addition of drops of NaOH - red to yellow

On addition of drops of HCl- yellow to red
