Question
Can someone please help me? This is the second time I post this question to no avail. So as can be seen above I attached a chemical structure with its H-NMR, Which three aromatic protons are shifted more downfield, and which four aromatic protons are shifted upfield? (like can you please be specific, I will really appreciate it if you point out the hydrogens as labeled above)
03/02 03/02/17 (20:07) 200 ST protons peal 190 are, 180 170 160 150 140 130 120 100 60 50 r 110 10E 10 o s go 5 80 7,5 70 6.5 6,0 5.5 5.0 4.5 4.0 3.5 3.0 2.5 2.0 1.5 1.0 0.5 0.0 -0.5Explanation / Answer
Always keep in mind that the peak for the hydrogen moved to downfield if it is surrounded by tha electronegative atoms or pie electrons. Here we have oxygen atom(highly electronegative) in surroundings of Ha Hb Hc therefore there will be a downfield for these three hydrogen atom and upfield for the rest of the 4 hydrogen atoms
