Question
The optimal temperature in which catalase work best is at 37 degrees Celsius. At this temperature it allows the enzyme to react with hydrogen peroxide. It quickens the process of harmful hydrogen peroxide breaking in harmless components of water and oxygen. Catalase activity is based on the temperature of the catalase. Enzyme-catalyzed reactions are faster as the temperature increases and decreases as temperatures decrease below the optimal-level. When the temperature increases, more molecules with kinetic energy react speeding up the reaction. When the temperature decreases, the available energy also decreases slowing down the reaction. This explains why putting the liver and sand in an ice bath, and a hot water bath did not cause any reactivity as far as we observed. TheExplanation / Answer
Here the problem statement asks us to explain based on the experimental evidence what is the optimal temperature of catalyst activity. Just like pH, temerature also has vast effect on the activity of the catalyst. We from the experimental data know that catalyst works the best at 37 degrees celcius. At this temperature it allows the enzyme to react with hydrogen peroxide. We already know that when pH is 7 it has same activity. So we now know that catalyst is st effect at 37 deg C and pH of 7. At these conditions it quickens the process of harmful H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) breaking in harmless components of water and oxygen. Also enzyme catalysed reactions are faster as the temperature increases and decreases as temperature increases and decreases as the temperature decreases below the optimal level.
