Question
Post-Laboratory Questions (use the spaces provided for the answers and additional paper if necessary) 1. calculate the anticipated pH foreach of the solutions that resulted when you added HCIorNaoH to the "water" beaker. Enter the data in the tables below. volume of HCl solution experimentally experimentally determined Hao added, ml. anticipated pH determined pH ion concentration, Mel volume of NaOH solution experimentally experimentally determined Hao added, mL anticipated pH determined pH ion concentration, M OO 50 Calculate the experimentally determined pH and concentration of Hao ion for each of the same solutions. Enter the data in the same tables.Explanation / Answer
In order to find the anticipated pH we must have concentration of NaOH and volume & concentration of HCl. Then we can calcualte the pH.
For experimental [H3O+] we know pH =-log([H3O+])
Hence when pH = 5.7 then 5.7=-log([H3O+]) So, [H3O+] = 2*10-6 M
Similarly when pH = 2.05 then 2.05 = -log([H3O+]) So, [H3O+] = 8.91*10-3 M
