Question

Plant anatomy questions please help?

I have to do a treasure hunt for plant anatomical parts.

I need to find a xylem or phoelem, an Epedermis, Parenchyma, collenchyma or sclerenchyma, and a root apical meristem or shoot apical meristem. How would i take a picture of each of these in my local community? Clearly some of these are on a microscopic level so I would take a picture of the area it is in and describe how i would know that the meristem is there or etc...

Also I have to be able to distringuish a leaf and a stem. it sounds weird but there are leaves that look like stems and vice versa and how can i be certain that what i am looking at is actually a leaf?

-Thank you so much in advance Andersen

Explanation / Answer

Stems contain axillary buds, nodes and internodes, or leaf scars (palm), which is their charaterisic. Leaves do not contain nodes, internodes and axillary buds.
