Express your answer to two significant igures and include the appropriate units 12.0 Incorrect: Try Again; 5 attempts remainingExplanation / Answer
mass of KCl in water (given)= 100 gm KCl /270 gm water
at 20 deg.c, solubility is 34 gm of KCl/100 gm of water
270 gm of water at 20 deg.c then contains 34*270/100 gm of KCl =91.8 gm of water
hence 91.8 gm of KCl remain in solution. Mass of KCl crystalized= mass of KCl initially- mass in the solution= 100-91.8=8.8 gm
with an increase in the temperature, the solubility of solid increases( if it decreases, it is called inverted solubility curve)
As the temperature is increased. the solubility of gas in water decreases.
As per Henrys law , the solubility of a gas in a liquid is directly proportional to the pressure of that gas above the surface of the solution. So increase in pressure of gas above the liquid surface, the solubility increases and does not have an affect on solid.
