Question
I have the structure figured out for this problem. But I want to make sure I have the correct explanations for each one. Please explain each structure.
CHE 2410 Organic Chemistry Laboratory -- Chapter 6. Experiments 6.3. Experiment 3: NMR 6) Please propose a structure consistent with each of the NMR spectra below (Explain" with these structures). The numbers adjacent to peaks refer to relative peak integral * spectra below (Explain how you come up 4ð0 300 200 100 C,H,Cl ul 6.05.0 PPM (8) 500 300 200 CGHS PPM (8) 400 C,H,Clo PPM (8)Explanation / Answer
Answer for the first one is CH3-CHCl-CH3
As there are 2 peaks in the spectrum it suggest that this is a symmetrical molecule.According to the height of the first peak we can tell it is a CH3 group and as it is a symmetrical molecule there are 2 CH3 groups and the remaining H should be in the middle C as it has splitter to 3 peaks.
