Explanation / Answer

PART:- A
the theoretical cell potential assuming standard conditions :--

The standard oxidation potential for Al (s) is + 1.66 V
The two half-reactions that occurs are
Ni2+ + 2e- >> Ni (s) E° = - 0.26
Al (s) >> Al3+ + 3e- E° = + 1.66
E° cell = - 0.26 + 1.66 = 1.40 V

PART:- B

-->In the nickel-aluminum galvanic cell, the cathode is aluminium Al.

-->Therefore electrons flow from anode to cathode.( through external wire)

-->The nickel electrode loses mass, while the aluminium electrode gains mass.

PART C:--

Al / Al+3 // Ni+2 / Ni
