Countifs for range of cells question.

Good morning,

This is my formula but it is coming up zero even though there isn't the case. What exactly am I doing wrong?

=COUNTIFS(A2:K74, L77, A2:K74, J77)

L77 is the persons name and J77 is 5.

So basically we are trying to count the number of times John Doe was rated a 5 in the range of B2:K74

Your ranges are a bit mixed up but COUNTIF can't do that anyway, try this.

=SUMPRODUCT((A2:A74=L77)*(B2:L74=5))
