Question

Assuming standard conditions, and considering the table of standardreduction potentials for half-reactions, given in your text,rank the following species according to their relativestrength as reducing agents. For example, the mostpowerful reducing agent would be given rank "1", and theleast "6".

123456 Pb
123456 Au
123456 OH- (basic half-cell solution)
123456 Zn
123456 Na
123456 H2O (acidic half-cell solution)

according to the table of standard half reaction i got
pb = -0.1266
Au= +1.50
OH= 0.414 not sure need to divide 4
Zn= -0.7621
Na= -2.7144
H20= +1.77 not sure need to divide 2

therefore, my answer is 3.6.4.2.1.5, but however still notcorrect.

Explanation / Answer

      The species having highstandard reduction potential has tendency to undergo reduction . Soit is a good oxidising agent. The species having lowreduction potential is a good reducing agent .             The increasing order of the reducing character is                  H2O < Au < OH- < Pb < Zn< Na                    6         5     4        3       2        1
