Is the substrate 1-methylcyclohexane or is it1-methylcyclohexene? Because if it's the latter, then it'san anti-addition of Br2 across the double bond,resulting in the racemic mixture of 1,2-dibromo-1-methylcyclohexane(the bromines would be on opposite sides in each steoreoisomericproduct).
