Question
Calcium Oxide reacts with water in a combination reaction toproduce calcium hydroxide: CaO (s) + H2O (l) -->Ca(OH)2 (s) A 1.50-g sample of CaO is reacted with 1.45 g of H2O. How many grams of water remains aftercompletion of reaction? The correct answer ends up being 0.966. I have no clue how toget to that answer. I always leave a score. Any help with thisproblem would be greatly appreciated. 1.5g times 1mol/56g gives you .02678 mols of CaO and CaO is in a 1 to 1 balance stocemetricly in the equation so you used .02678moles of h2o in the reaction. .0267molH20 times 18g per mol gives you .482grams used. 1.45g before-.482g used=.966g left
