Explanation / Answer

CuSO4 (aq) +4NH3 (aq) - - - > Cu[(NH3)4]SO4(aq)

Ionic equation - Cu2+ + SO4 2- +4NH3 - - - >Cu[(NH3)4]+SO4 2-

Net ionic equation - Cu2+ + 4NH3(aq) --> [Cu(NH3)4]^2+ ...... SO4^2- is a spectator ion

Explaination : when ammonia solution is added to solution of copper first we start to observe gelatinous blue solid forming. It consist insoluble copper hydroxide. OH- comes from base solution of ammonia. When more NH3 is added ppt of CuOH dissolves and more [Cu(NH3)4]^2+ is produced.
