   (Cu^{2+} + 1e -> Cu^{+})   

   (O_{2} + 4H^{+} -> 2H_{2}O + 4e)   

Multiply the top equation by 4 to cancel out the electrons on either side, and the whole equation becomes:

(4Cu^{2+} + O_{2} + 4H^{+} -> 2H_{2}O + 4 Cu^{+})
