alkyl halide

R- N2 -----------------> R+ + N2

DIAZONIUM ION

R- OH + H+ ----------------> R+ + H2O

Observe above reactions different compounds involve different reactions but form same carbocation intermediate.  

2) Group 6 elements are O , S, Se, Te, Po.

from top to bottom size increases then electro negativity decreases. simply we compare to O and S , oxygen is more electronegative than sulphur so the reactivity also different when thease two elements are installed in organic compounds.

examples alcohals are having more bolingpoint than thiaols. thiols are more powerful nucleophiles than alcohals.
