Question
Design a Superhero
Your task is to create your own superhero by pretending that it is possible to enhance the abilities in certain parts of the human brain. Identify the area of the brain that would have to be altered to create the superpowers you’ve determined are important for your hero.
You will need to:
Draw your superhero (can use clip art or sketch and take a photo)
Design a costume that reflects his/her main ability
Name your character
Determine the super abilities she/he possesses
Identify the brain structures that will need to be augmented to accommodate the new super skill
Identify a simple plot that would encourage this superhero to come to the rescue
Here is an example for you:
This is my superhero, Grumpy Cat. He stole this Batman costume because damage to his frontal lobe has caused him to be impulsive and not think about the consequences of his actions. His superpower is to bring everyone down when they are in a good mood. He is able to do this because he experimented with methamphetamine as a kitty and permanently depleted his serotonin levels. Serotonin, as I learned in Chapter 2, is responsible for mood and sleep, among other things. He is now permanently depressed, or in his case, more irritable.
Explanation / Answer
Superhero, Lobo. He wears an ordinary costume and looks like an ordinary individual. He has the ability to repair the injury rapidly. He does this by enhancing the immunity of his own self and increases the process of inflammation near the place of injury. He can trigger inflammation process in others also. He has enhanced myelin sheet in his brain which helps him to send signals more faster.
