Immune system in the body responds to attack from microbes such as bacteria and produce antibodies. It also serves to guard over the cells of our own body so that it does not become abnormal.
Immune system is organised into several special tissues which are called as lymphoid organs. Lymphoid organs can be central or peripheral. Central lymphoid organs are thymus and bone marrow. Peripheral lymphoid organs are lymph nodes, spleen, mucosal associated lymphoid tissues.
