Explanation / Answer
In first case the plant will die because it was kept in a air tight container. The plant will not immediately die because it will utilize the CO2 inside to photosynthesis and will produce that CO2 during respiration. similarly O2 relesed during photosynthesis is utilized at the time of respiration.But after few days the plant will die due to lack of CO2.
In second case Mouse will die in few hours due to lack of oxygen ( hypoxia).
In third case both plant and animal will survive in day light because -
But in night both animal and plant need O2 and releases CO2 so concentration of O2 will fall and the animal will die and the plant will die later.
In fourth case-Cristae is formed by invagination and folding of inner mitochondrial membrane. Note folding greatens the surface area inside the mitochondria where chemical reactions takes place. Here ATP( Adinosine tri phosphate) production takes place. Higher folding means higher surface area eventually leads to higher ATP production.
So mitochondria with unfolded cristae results in low ATP production menas low energy and rate of metabolism will eventually low.
